Fraud prevention: stay vigilant and secure

At City Exchange, protecting customer security is our top priority.

Fraud can happen to anyone, but by following key guidelines, you can significantly reduce your risk.

Here are some essential tips to help you stay safe:

1. Protect Your Personal Information

Never share your personal information or transaction details with anyone. Always verify the identity of anyone requesting sensitive information.

2. Be Cautious with Transactions

Never transact on behalf of unknown persons. This can expose you to scams and financial loss.

3. Secure Your Salary Card

Never hand over your Salary Card to anyone. Treat your card like cash—keep it safe and secure.

4. Keep Your PIN Confidential

Never share your Salary Card PIN with anyone. Your PIN is a personal security feature; keep it private.

5. Avoid Suspicious Links

Never execute any transaction on websites opened from links received via unknown emails, SMS, or social media. Always type the website address directly into your browser.

6. Ignore Unsolicited Communications

Never respond to unsolicited emails or phone calls asking for personal information. If in doubt, contact the organization directly using verified contact details.

7. Use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Enable 2FA on your accounts for an extra layer of security. This requires a second form of verification beyond just your password.

8. Monitor Your Accounts Regularly

Regularly check your bank and credit card statements for unauthorized transactions. Report any discrepancies immediately.

9. Keep Software Up-to-Date

Ensure your computer, smartphone, and security software are always up to date. This helps protect against vulnerabilities and threats.

10. Use Strong, Unique Passwords

Create strong passwords that are difficult to guess, and use different passwords for different accounts. Consider using a password manager to keep track of them.

11. Educate Yourself About Common Scams

Stay informed about the latest fraud tactics and scams. Knowledge is your best defence.

12. Secure Your Devices

Use antivirus software and enable firewalls on your devices. Avoid using public Wi-Fi for sensitive transactions.

Stay Alert!  Stay Safe!  Stay Secure!
